19th DECEMBER TO MARK AS ROBBERY DAY BY A VERONICA FERNANDES

Indian Military actually landed on Goan soil on 18th December 1961. We saw them in their innumerable Jeeps and Tanks early in the morning on 18th December 1961 approximately at 5.30 AM going to Aguada. First time in my life I saw Sardarjis with their beard and turbans and I was so terrified that I thought what I was seeing were not normal human beings but someone from the other planet, so much I was frightened to see them. I was young then doing my schooling in my village Portuguese school. During Portuguese time we were not accustomed to see such human beings having so different outlook as Sikhs. My one brother working for SESA Goa was stranded at Sircaim about whom we were very much worried while the other brother working for Goa Police was at home since he was a technical man at Panjim Headquarters and was not required for fighting the Bharati enemies. The distance between my house and the main Road was approximately 50 metres and next to the main road we had our paddy field. My father who had great admiration for Salazar and his strict laws in Goa was very sad to see Salazar’s rule in Goa is ending while my Goa Police employee brother was telling “now Goa will turn into a “Moula ani Chor Raj”. Very prophetic words. He made this remark because earlier he had been to Bombay where he witnessed how bad Indian rule was. Indians are not good rulers but good “Chors” and current “Chors” of Goa learnt this art from Indian “Chors”. Goa since December 19, 1961 was disgraced by the introduction of Bharati rules, tradition, culture and influx of non-Goans.

On the same day early in the morning while my father was going to check the flow of water in our paddy field, on the main road he was stopped by the Bharati Military Peronnel occupying the front Seat in the Military Tank. Since my father was wearing a white banyan, his fair body like that of Portuguese Paklo, attracted the attention of that Bharati Military man who thought my father was a Paklo too. He shouted at my father to stop there only. My father was afraid. To pacify that Indian Millitary man, my father immediately started to talk in Hindi. Then that Indian Military man stopped the convoy of Jeep and Tanks for few minutes to talk to my father. At home seeing from distance, we all were terrified mainly because of my father’s pro-Portuguese inclination. But my father did not show any leaning towardsPortugal and went on answering all the questions posed to him by the Indian Military man. It was about 10 minutes conversation between my father and Indian Military while proceeding to Aguada where the major portion of Portuguese Military personnel posted. The questions posed to my father were:

1. First Question: Who are you? Are you an Indian or Portuguese? My father replied: I am a
Goan.

2. Second question: Where are you going so early? My father replied: Going to our paddy field.

3. Third question: Why are you wearing this poverty stricken Banyan? My father replied:
Because I am a poor man.

Then the Indian Military man said: Yes, we know the Portuguese Government has purposely kept you poor. Henceforth, you will not remain poor, your standard will be high under Bharati rule. Don’t worry, you will enjoy best of life in Goa under Indian rule.

4. Fourth question: What is the strength of Portuguese Military stationed at Aguada? How long it will take for our convoy to reach Aguada? And what about Chapora Fort? Is there any Military Portuguese posted there? Do you have any idea?

My father replied thus: There is nothing at Chapora. At Aguada around 200 Portuguese soldiers are stationed and it will take around 30 Minutes to reach Aguada from my place.

My poor father ignorant of Bharati Raj of “Chor” and cunning, out of happiness wrongly believing as Gospel Truth what Indian Military man told him, came home immediately even without checking the flow of water in our Paddy field, so much he was excited for the good days that will come on Goa. When he reached home, he was all smiling and in happy mood thinking of the better days to come on Goans especially poor Goans under Bharati rule. While going to our Paddy Field my father was saying Salazar Zindabad but while returning home he started saying Nehru Zindabad and Salazar Murdabad. Poor man my father!! He was fooled by Indian Military personnel. And who was he the Indian Military man? Where is he now? Alive or dead? God alone knows.

Tomorrow 19th December, Goa will be celebrating Liberation Day of Goa. What liberation? To hell with this liberation. It was NOT Liberation but it was a ROBBERY because on this day in 1961, Bharat Serkar of Nehru ROBBED MY BELOWED GOA and annexed it to his corrupt Bharat without taking into consideration our views. Goa was not Nehru's "Paiche Bens" to acquire it forcefully without our consentA few Freedom Fighters were not the spokemen of Goa and Goans. Morarjee Desai was against using force to drive away Portuguese from Goa.

According to the landmark judgement delivered by India’s Apex Court, i.e. the Supreme Court, on 19th December 1961, Goa was NOT LIBERATED by Bharat but CONQUERED. One of the renowned Goans the then Principal of St. Joseph’s High School Arpora told the students in his class at Arpora that Goa was invaded by BHARAT and NOT Liberated while many others said on 19th December 1961 Goa as Goa was ROBBED by Bharat to destroy its genuine identity, this was what Nehru cunningly wanted. For some political reasons Nehru wanted to eradicate total identity of Goa. In view of this 19th December should be marked NOT AS LIBERATION DAY OF GOA BUT AS ROBBERY DAY OF GOA. All the genuine Goans who love Goa must oberve this day as the day of Robbery.

By all means Goa had to be liberated from Portugal but not the way it was done. Because of force used against Goa, the Non Violence doctrine preached by Bharat under Nehru was put into disgrace. World leaders accused India under Nehru for using violent method to drive away Portuguese from Goa. There was no need to use violence to exit Portuguese from Goa. Nehru was a crook. Without consulting Goans based in Goa he took unilateral action and when some world leaders accused Nehru for using force on Goa, Nehru was shocked and he took this shock very seriously leading to deteriorating of his health.

The rule of Bharat in Goa is a curse. Bharati administration in Goa is a shame. There is nothing good in Bharat and because it is so, all the top and low Bharatis are flooding in Goa making Goa as Ghantti Raj. The character of genuine Goan was destroyed by the Bharati Ghantti in Goa. Nobody trust a Bharati because he is selfish, crook, traitor and first class “Chor”. What is happening in Goa now is the result of forceful occupation of Goa by Nehru’s Congress. In order to lead a Maharjas Life, Congress stripped Maharajas of their doles and themselves turned into new Maharajas. In the name of Socialism they have amassed wealth by robbing poor citizens. In Goa every top Congressman is become a crorepoti by robbing the poor Goans. Goan Freedom Fighters are not interested in this robbery because they have already sold their sacrifices under Portuguese rule in Goa for Pensions and Tamrapatra. Their fights and imprisonment during Portuguese rule against Portuguese were purchased by the Government. For this reason they are keeping their silence over the rot that is going on in Goa now. Prof. James from Assonora, Bardez who himself suffered so much under Portuguese rule for being a genuine Freedom Fighter had no answer to this question when I met him a few years back.

Immediately following the takeover of Goa by Bharat, many of the Non Brahmin Hindus in my village were acting like Dadas, threatening Christians, firing crackers in front of the houses of Christians and Crosses and making rough statements against Christians and St. Francis Xavier as if Chritians were Pro-Portuguese and anti-Indians. Regretfully, all of them who were harassing Christians and talking against Christianity in my village died very miserably. I pity them and their families. They thought Bharati Raj means Hindu Raj for Hindus alone to rule over all others. They were ignorant because they equated India with Hindus. They did not know how the word India originated. They were communal in thoughts and deeds. Later on they all supported ZALACH PAIZE, i.e. Merger of Goa with Maharastra. They never realized the great contribution of Goan Chritians in fighting against Portuguese rule in Goa. To know more of the contribution of Goan Christians at regional and national levels they should read the latest book “PATRIOTISM IN ACTION” by Valmiki Faleiro.

FORMS OF TERRORISM By Francisco Monteiro, Majordá

FORMS OF TERRORISM by Francisco Monteiro, MajordáTerrorism are not only the actions made with the use of fire guns and armed attacks! There are other ways of terrorism which are more violent and high rate of reproved as armed attacks.

The Peaceful and Democratic rulers of India ordered and supported between 1954/1961 truly crimes against the populations of Goa, Damão and Diu, which we name the most significant:

Other forms of terrorism practiced by the rulers of the Indian Union in Goa, Damão and Diu between 1954/1961.

1) - Established economic blockade and forbade trade between Indian territories and Goa, Damão and Diu;

2) - Froze the funds of Goans, Damanese and Diuese that was deposited in Indian banks;

3) - Not allowed Goans, Damanenses and Diuese, who worked in the Indian Union to transfer their savings to their families living in Goa, Damão and Diu;

4) - Supported all the decisions of the Labour Union´s Organization from the Indian Harbours (Bombay, Calcutta and Madras), so that the blockage towards others countries, refusing foreign companies to depart from Mormugao, in Goa

5) - Subdued Goan, Damanese and Diuese emigrants to major sacrifices and to pay arbitrary and heavy duty of personal right goods in Majali and other local customs.

Violence against population is also terrorism!

Goa, Damão and Diu suffered and were victims of two forms of terrorism practiced by the Indian Union and that went unnoticed and should be remembered so that the youngsters born after 1961 be informed and not be influenced by Indian mass media.

INDIA IMPOSES COLONIAL LEGACY OVER GOA by Johny Rebello

India has not learnt bitter lessons from her repressive colonial past by the British and instead on her own imposed the same colonial legacy over Goa under a cynically derogative terminology called ‘Liberated’ as if Goans were ever slaves  Unlike the Indians the Goans have never seen slavery in their history and even during Portuguese Era were never differentiated and were treated equally and on merits and at times in preference over their own and were allowed to attain and be elevated to the highest positions in the Portuguese hierarchy like governors of their distant colonies which have unlike Goa have now become fully fledged independent nations.

The very term ‘Liberated’ denotes a connection to slavery when at its height the term came to be used commonly by slave masters referring a connection to those of the likes who were transported naked across the seas and sold and where this term came into wider and intensive usage and evolved into a related meaning. Therefore, those who concede themselves as ‘Liberated’ concede to have been slaves at some time of the likes of those sold naked.

When Nehru said that the Goans are ‘Liberated’ it was a cynical derogative reference drawing analogy to those naked slaves shipped across the seas and, also as based on his limited knowledge when he referred to Goa as “nation of cooks butlers and nannies” little forgetting that he was a product of the most ruthless and worst kind of colonialism unleashed on the planet by the British by taking them as junglis (uncivilized).

Perhaps he forgot that British treated Indians most inhumanly killing them like flies in millions including those who were dragged to fight her own war against the Germans.  As indentured labourers, unlike Goans, Indians were substituted by the British to replace slaves and in their thousands to toil in equally harsh conditions to develop their far flung colonies in Canada, West Indies, Mauritius, South Africa, Fiji etc.

The Indians were dehumanized in their own country to such a degree to that of sub-human dignity with some hotels in India displaying such notices to say “DOGS and INDIANS not allowed” much what the Russians must be revving at to prefer and lavish to do the same in Goa under the present Indian rule with similar notices that say “DOGS, GOANS and COWS not allowed” thereby declaring their domain thus independent something they denied to Goa by their own action at UN.

Declaring oneself to be ‘Liberated’ is tantamount to calling one self ex-slave of the origin of those sent naked across seas or calling upon one self and his generation the stigma and bear a complex that somewhere he was a slave when Goa, in reality in the past has never had a history of slavery.

All those including the Freedom Fighters who cherish to claim themselves to be ‘Liberated’ concede themselves to be ex-slaves of that category. No wonder Goa has been still lingering for 52 years past in a voluntary colonial slavery.

INDIA VALIDATED ITS ILLEGAL INVASION OF GOA by Johny Rebello

It is a little surprising at times when one comes across many Goans, other than those who are mere laymen, who know so little or are not conscious in political context of themselves and accordingly how their lives and their higher potential has been affected.   It would be news to many to know that Kuwait was invaded by Saddam through explicit instigation and persistent proactive coercion from her mentor India.

It was a requisite for India, having occupied Goa illegally, as it does so even today, and in the absence of International Law to validate such kind of invasion, and to consolidate her position over Goa’s invasion, internationally (which cannot be done unless followed by the universally laid down  procedures and under UN to confirm to International Law), it was necessary for India, to establish a parallel to her action of  occupation of Goa, and therefore had to coercive other potential countries, similarly positioned like herself, and who would follow her procedure likewise, in order to establish an 'popular consensus’ and then to establish a kind of new ad-hock international world order that would circumvent to entitle them a ‘de facto’ status to retain the then illegally seized territories and to ‘legalize’ them as part of their own territory!

India therefore exercised her leadership to instigate these potentially rogue countries like herself, to violate International Law on her similar basis, which would  allow India to broadly justify her own illegal action on Goa. On the other side, India went steps beyond and attempted to tamper with the workings of certain International Organizations to pose resistance to impart international justice to those respective, thus victimised territories. .

It proves that India is the worst kind of colonialist even worse than the Western countries that it had the audacity to propagate her colonial culture and philosophy, applied in Goa, to be transported across the seas to distant countries, to colonially subjugate, oppress and deprive the right to those inhabitants by their respective regimes, as is done in Goa, and in territories where India is least known or not connected to the lives of those people. It would be worth for Kuwaiti people to well understand this.

There is ample amount of such evidence to demonstrate how India used every means to hamper East Timor’s independence because this would set a precedent uniquely matched for Goa’s likewise entitled independence. One such, of many illustrative incidents, which were widely reported in Portuguese media, was NAM conference in Luanda, Angola, when India as one the founders of NAM used her prominence to physically debarred Fretin, the East Timorese movement from gaining even an Observer status at that Conference. However, after some years of uphill struggle and much to the Lusophonic wisdom and influence prevailing high in support of East Timor’s just cause, East Timor eventually  gain her presence in NAM in defiance to India’s resentment. This was one of the many venues adopted by East Timor, to which Goa is equally entitled, to pave for her eventual independence and sovereignty.

The Indian mooted invasion of Kuwait by Iraq was well conceived and meticulously planned all along and not without India’s help and counsel, and with New Delhi, as its principal mentor and originator of the very idea, was kept informed at every step.

It has to be remembered that the issue of Saddam invading Kuwait was very essential for India because India was then looked upon as the lone violator of International Law under Decolonization which was linked with Goa, and therefore India wanted fellow partners like Iraq and Indonesia to boost each one’s moral and prove to the world, collectively that in such circumstances as theirs that it has to be commonly accepted to be  world order or common norm, as if to be Universally applied and as if it licenses them to literally rob wholesale their small neighbour.

No sooner had Saddam declared success in occupying Kuwait immediately that very day I. K.Gujral, India’s Foreign Minister grass-hoped to Baghdad to famously bear-hug Saddam Hussein and heartily congratulate him on his successful invasion of Kuwait that put Kuwait in par with the invasion of Goa, which India much desired.
Back in New Delhi, India was buoyant and jubilant  to have come one notch nearer to ‘validate’ her hold on Goa vis-à-vis Kuwait and was most celebrative declaring to the world that India is the first country in the world to congratulate Iraq for invading and occupying Kuwait!

But unfortunately this dream for Saddam and fortunately this nightmare for Kuwait did not last and was short lived unlike in Goa the nightmare half century on still lingers into 21st century. Kuwait’s aspiration to regain her freedom came true when 33 nations grouped together under the UN banner to free Kuwait from the claws of Iraq.

India branded as champion of ugly colonialism and not champion of freedom was condemned for her nefarious deed and ostracized and hunted away by the Kuwaitis from their scene

Ironically Goa’s aspiration for her independence was re-echoed along with Kuwait’s wish, in a most symbolic manner with Portugal being part of this 33 nation group contingent who provided a warship. Portugal’s gesture was well in keeping with her high aspirations to free all territories from colonialism and to grant independence to all her former colonies with Goa included, as expected, to be free independent sovereignties.
.
These three Gangsters with India being at the pinnacles were surely out to set a new world order “rob thy neighbour”. But unfortunately much to their desire no nation scribed to this idea, and Indonesia and Iraq fell into fire.

It did not matter so much to India internally, within India, where she gagged and kick the Goans, as she still does, taking them for uneducated and unvalued to be disinherited and stripped of their mother land under harsh colonial suppression all in silence and darkness. However, it did matters very much for India in the International Community and Global Society when it comes to stand shoulder to shoulder in the league of civilized nations. Unfortunately, India does not qualify for any rank as such. She stands at the very bottom of the ebb in an uncivilized manner as a “neo-colonial power”, a reminiscent of a dark colonial past in a colonially free 21st century world order.

This Indian mooted Kuwaiti’s invasion’s orgy was a catalyst that provided a corridor to Iraq War and the ensuing biggest blood bath of the 21st century in the course that followed to seek Saddam Hussein for his atrocities, for which Hindu India of non-violent fakir called Mahatma Ghandi that boast as world’s biggest democracy has to bear the moral responsibility. Much could have been elaborated on this catastrophe of Iraq War because myriads of unspeakable implications cascaded from this tragedy which all started with the export and propagation by India of her “rob thy weaker neighbour’s country” colonial philosophy.

While Saddam may have been punished and hanged for his hideous crime of robbing weaker neighbour’s territory but Nehru, the real perpetrator and initiator of this culture and legacy who robbed Goa, missed the hangman’s noose to escape safely and stayed on to create his own dynasty while Saddam’s dynasty and his dreams vanished into ashes.

Nehru was a worst culprit in history but little the Goans know about it. Do they know that if the Indian postured tyrant Saddam was still occupying Kuwait, as India persisted, would our Goan fraternity be enjoying the livelihood and the lifestyle they are having in their host country?

For those pro-Indian Goans who openly flaunt themselves as ‘proud Indians’ in contravention of their expected patriotism and loyalty to  that noble host country who had suffered the same fate as Goa, in which still lingers in, this should be  a long lesson to study.
